Veering off from the well-lit roads of abstraction, this project explored the dark back alleys of literality. A neglected principle of interpretation and production, literality was assumed as the guiding principle of the project. 

In contrast to a typology, a species constantly mutates. A species needs a lineage—it comes from other things. Where others use words like “typology,” we used words like “species.” While others look for categories, we looked for metamorphosis. This project mutated known architecture and shamelessly exploited its clichés. Sure, clichés are boring, but a cliché is a cliché because it’s been in the world—because people have been looking at them and using them.

The project site is a dairy farm located in the suburbs of Rosario, Argentina, where the cows freely roam. The form of the machines was inspired by plushies and flowers. These floating machines are designed to move around the farm and collect and pasteurize the milk from the cows. In addition, they serve as air filters, purifying the polluted air emanating from the nearby city. This dual function not only enhances the productivity of the farm but also contributes to a cleaner environment.
